- Booking First, you need to find a reliable freight forwarding company to book a shipment. You need to provide the following information: container type (20GP/40GP/40HQ) and quantity, loading time and location, shipper information, consignee information, unloading location, cargo name, cargo weight, and value.
- Loading (Empty Pickup, Full Return) After booking, a truck will be scheduled to arrive at the loading location at the agreed time. The truck driver will pick up an empty container from the port (empty pickup). The driver will provide the container number and seal number, which must be checked at the warehouse before loading. After loading, the container will be returned to the port to await shipment (full return).
- Customs Declaration Once the container is in the yard, a customs declaration form is filled out and submitted. Upon approval, a release note is issued. If the release note is not obtained before the shipping company’s cutoff time, the shipment will not be allowed on board.
- Loading onto the Ship The container is transported to the port by truck and loaded onto the booked vessel in the designated slot. Cargo with a later sailing date will be stored at the container terminal.
- Departure The container ship departs for the destination port at the scheduled time. Special circumstances, such as port congestion or bad weather, can cause delays in the shipping schedule.
- Arrival (Unloading, Pickup) Upon arrival at the destination port, the container is unloaded. It is then taken to the port yard (unloading) and arrangements are made for delivery by truck to the consignee (pickup), where the cargo is delivered to the receiving point.
- Customs Clearance The shipping company notifies the consignee to pick up the cargo. The consignee presents the necessary documents to clear customs.
