Amazon has stringent packaging requirements to ensure the safety and integrity of products during transportation. Here’s an overview of their key packaging guidelines:

  1. Standard Carton Boxes: Amazon globally adopts standard six-sided carton boxes for packaging products, ensuring consistency and stability.

  2. Box Condition: Carton boxes must be intact, free from any local or overall damage, and without large areas of graffiti or contamination on the exterior. This maintains the product’s image and prevents damage during transportation.

  3. Prohibited Materials: The use of biodegradable packaging materials (like the specifically mentioned titanium-based packaging, which might be a misinterpretation or a placeholder for a certain type) and soft, easily breakable carton boxes is prohibited. Likewise, loose-filling materials such as foam particles or shredded paper are not accepted.

  4. Box Strength & Fillers: Carton boxes must be sufficiently sturdy to withstand any external pressure during transportation. Fillers must be materials accepted by Amazon, such as large-sized cushions (like air pillows, full sheets of paper, bubble wrap, or stretch film), to secure the product within the box.

  5. Box Size & Closure Methods: No side of a carton box should exceed 63.5cm in length, unless the single item itself exceeds this size. Additionally, large staples, nylon fiber tapes, strapping bands, elastic bands, or other belts are not allowed for securing or sealing carton boxes to prevent damage to personnel and equipment during sorting and transportation.

  6. External Additions: Adding additional fillings, protective panels, cardboard sheets, or similar items to the exterior of carton boxes is prohibited to maintain packaging simplicity and reduce transportation costs.

  7. Special Box Prohibition: Carton boxes resembling pallet sizes are not allowed to avoid inconvenience during transportation and storage.

  8. Repackaging Costs: If a shipment is rejected due to non-compliant packaging, it will be returned for repackaging, which incurs additional costs and delays product shelf time. Therefore, it’s crucial to carefully check packaging compliance before shipment to avoid losses caused by rejection.

In summary, Amazon’s packaging requirements aim to guarantee the safety, stability, and efficiency of products during transportation, minimizing losses and delays due to packaging issues. Merchants should strictly adhere to these requirements when preparing shipments to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
